JACKSON TWP. — The Timken Co. has awarded $540,000 in scholarships to 20 children of Timken employees in the United States, China, India, Canada, France and the Netherlands.

There were four local recipients of the Timken Global Scholars Program, which has awarded more than $26 million to 835 students since it began in 1958.

“We are committed to investing in the next generation of students, leaders and innovators so they can make contributions that will move their communities – and our world – forward,” Timken Chairman John M. Timken Jr. said in a prepared statement. “The Timken Global Scholars Program is one way we support stronger communities and recognize the achievements of employees and their exceptional students.”
