Robert G. Palmer
RAVENNA - Robert G. “Bob” Palmer, 90, of Medina, Ohio formally of Ravenna, Ohio, Passed away Thursday January 11, 2024 at the Medina Cleveland Clinic Hospital. He was born August 20, 1933 to Irving C. and Nettie E. (Garrett) Palmer. He graduated from Ravenna Township High School in 1951 and attended Ohio Northern University. Bob was the President and CEO of Portage Plumbing and Heating Inc. in Streetsboro, Ohio.
He was a member of the Kent First Christian (Disciples of Christ) in Kent, Ohio, the F&AM Masonic Lodge Unity #12, Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #46. He was a member of the Local, State and National Plumbing, Heating Cooling Contractors Association and served as President at the Local and State level. He was a member of the Northern Ohio Chapter of the Builders and Contractors Association. He taught Plumbing Apprentice training programs for 12 years. He served on the Portage County Health Board (1967-2019), the Cleveland Christian Home for Children Board of Trustees and the Board of Trustee for Ohio Eastern Star Nursing Home. Bob became an active member of the J&J Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, and Electric Co. in Akron Ohio (2019-2023)
Survivors, include his wife, Iris (Ford, Feetterers) Children Michael Palmer (Kina), Deborah Combs (Paul deceased), and Phyllis Vair (James). Step Children, William Feetterers (Karen) and Lorie Mitchell (Rick).
Grand Children Destine Rivera (Cali), Kelly Hailey (Bobby), Otto Palmer (Chakel), Marci Rames (Shawn), Brian Hickman (Amy), Karice Chechak (Matthew), Amanda Francis (Mike), Wesley Francis (Amanda), Paul Combs Jr. (Wendy) Scott Combs (Brandy), Aaron Feetterers, Ellen Knapp (Jake), Laura Feetterers, and Riley Stone (Bram) and eighteen Great Grand Children. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia, infant daughter, grandson, William (Hunter) Mitchell and great-grandson, Judah Christian.
Calling hours will be from 1:00 PM until 3:30 PM on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Masonic and Eastern Star services will be at 3:30 PM Sunday with funeral services to follow at 4 PM with Pastor Amanda Moore officiating.
