Holiday in Bloom: Noon to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1-4 p.m. through Dec. 30 at Hower House Museum, 60 Fir Hill, Akron. Holiday tours cost $10 for adults and $8 for seniors. Brew at the Zoo: 6-9 p.m. Dec. 30 at the Akron Zoo, 505 Euclid Ave., Akron. The holiday special combines Brew at the Zoo and Wild Lights. Holiday lights, animal viewings and tastings from local breweries and wineries. The event is for 21 or older, including designated drivers. Infants and children will not be admitted. Tickets are available at akronzoo.org/brew-at-the-zoo

Peninsula Area Chamber of Commerce Airbnb Tour: A tour of 14 Airbnb sites 3-6 p.m. Feb. 4. Participan­ts can visit each site individual­ly or ride a shuttle bus. Shuttle tickets, $50, which include refreshmen­ts and a local history talk, must be purchased by Dec. 30 at 330-657-2528. Other visitors can pick up a $10 wristband and map starting Jan. 8 at Peninsula Coffee Shop on Main Street or at Peninsula Trail Mix on Mill Street. A valentine’s basket will be raffled.

Purses Are Like Friends: Friends of Akron Children’s Hospital would like donations of new or gently used handbags, wallets, totes and girls’ purses for a luncheon April 13 at Akron Hilton/Fairlawn. All proceeds will benefit the Showers Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Akron Children’s Hospital. Drop off purses off Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home in Fairlawn, Allure Nail Salon in Cuyahoga Falls or Lucky Shoes on West Market Street in Fairlawn.
