ESCAPE TO CORNWALL

FOXHOLE 5

CRANTOCK, NEWQUAY

Dog lover Roxanne Butcher runs the uniquely named Foxhole 5 luxury static caravan on the award-winning Trevalla Park in Crantock, Newquay.

“My mother, who has three dogs, owns the caravan, which has three bedrooms and can sleep up to eight people,” explains Roxanne. “She bought it in 2019, and since then we’ve had lots of repeat visits from happy guests. The caravan is bright, modern and spacious, and equipped with everything needed to give a cosy, home from home vibe.

“Foxhole 5 is in a great, peaceful location; just a few minutes’ drive or 30 minutes’ walk from gorgeous Crantock beach, which welcomes dogs all year round. The river Gannel flows down the right-hand side of the beach and, at low tide, reveals a bridge, which provides a short cut so you can walk up to Newquay and spend the day there!

“Close by there is also Polyjoke beach, Holywell Beach, the enormous Perranporth beach, Fistral beach and many other beaches that can be accessed from Newquay town centre.

“As we are dog lovers, we’ve made the caravan super dog-friendly and don’t charge for dogs. A large, enclosed decking area has a table and chairs where dogs and owners can enjoy relaxing in the Cornish sunshine. There are lots of green spaces to walk your dogs, and the park has a dedicated dog-walking area.

“Hard flooring has been laid throughout to keep it easy to clean and dogs are very welcome on the furniture, although we ask guests to bring throws to help keep things as clean as possible. There is an outdoor tap and hose pipe to wash the sand from your dog’s feet, and the park also has a dog wash area, which is very useful.

“We are in a great place that is centrally located to explore all of Cornwall, and we provide an information book with details of dog-friendly walks and places to visit, eat and drink. This is a perfect place to relax and enjoy Cornish sea, sand and food.”
