Law company appoints new finance chief

BRISTOL-BASED law firm Foot Anstey has appointed Investec Bank’s finance chief as its new CFO.

Brian Johnson spent a decade at the FTSE-250 lender and has more than 20 years of experience in global investment banking and wealth management.

During his time at London-listed Investec, he was involved in driving the company’s expansion, according to Foot Anstey.

Mr Johnson said: “I am excited to join Foot Anstey at a time when the firm is focused on strategic growth and innovation. Foot Anstey’s ambitious plans align perfectly with my own experience in driving business expansion and improving operationa­l efficiency.

“I look forward to working closely with my new colleagues to explore opportunit­ies for growth and continue delivering exceptiona­l value to our clients.”

Martin Hirst, managing partner at Foot Anstey, said Mr Johnson’s appointmen­t highlighte­d the firm’s “commitment to accelerati­ng” its strategic growth plans.

future direction and success,” he said.

On Monday, Foot Anstey also appointed Paul Butterwort­h as a legal director to its affordable housing team. His specialism­s include regenerati­on, regulation, developmen­t and funding. He has acted on some of the biggest housing schemes in London and the South East.

Mr Butterwort­h, who joins from law firm Ashfords, will work alongside partner Lara Borrett-Lynch.

He said: “I’m thrilled to join Foot Anstey and contribute to the firm’s impressive work and commitment to the affordable housing sector. It’s an exciting time for the industry, with significan­t opportunit­ies to make a meaningful impact on housing delivery across the UK.”
