Tuesday, GREAT! movies, 9pm Christopher Plummer delivers one of the finest performances from the latter part of his career in director Ridley Scott’s take on an infamous real-life event. He plays miserly billionaire Jean Paul Getty, whose teenage grandson is kidnapped and held for ransom.
Wednesday, Film4, 11.45pm Oscar-nominated Sally Hawkins plays lonely janitor Elisa. She stumbles upon an amphibious creature held captive in a research facility before developing a unique relationship which changes her life.
Thursday, BBC2, 11.15pm Adam Driver and Lady Gaga (right) star in Ridley Scott’s lavish crime thriller about Maurizio Gucci, one-time head of the Gucci fashion house, and the wife who plots to murder him. It enjoyably oscillates between tragedy and high camp, and Gaga is mesmerising as a master manipulator.

The Farrelly brothers’ riotous comedy stars Ben Stiller as loveable loser Ted, who misses out on a prom date with his highschool crush Mary (Cameron Diaz, pictured) after a rather unfortunate bathroom incident. Thirteen years later, Ted is still obsessed with Mary and sets out to track her down with the assistance of slimy claims adjuster Pat Healey (a very funny Matt Dillon), who also falls for Mary and does everything he can to prevent her and Ted ever meeting again.
