Former editor makes news with Media House role
Former award-winning newspaper editor John Mclellan has joined Media House International, one of Scotland’s most successful public relations companies, as a Senior Consultant.
Mclellan’s career spans 40 years, in which time he was an editor for 15 years and then Director of Communications for the Scottish Conservative Party during Ruth Davidson’s leadership.
He is currently the director of Newsbrands Scotland, the trade association for Scottish news publishers and writes weekly columns for The Scotsman and Edinburgh Evening News. He is a member of the Defence, Security and Media Advisory Committee, and the Advertising Standards Authority’s Code of Advertising Practice Committee. He also teaches journalism as an honorary professor at the University of Stirling.
Johnston Carmichael Wealth has expanded into Dundee following two strategic appointments based in the city.
Lauren Whitters and Duncan Fernie, who collectively have almost 25 years' experience in the financial sector, join the team as financial planners as part of Johnston Carmichael Wealth’s continued growth.

Property consultancy Galbraith has promoted 12 members of their team across the business and made one new partner, David Hurst, who heads the Morpeth office.
Galbraith is a limited liability partnership headquartered in Edinburgh, with 29 partners and a staff of 175, based in 1Scotland and the north of England.

Hurst will also take on the role of Head of Rural Operations, with a focus on the north of England.
