Cup shootout dramas for Bourne youngsters
Bourne’s junior teams have enjoyed plenty of cup success in the last week.
The Under 16s claimed a surpriseYouthLeagueLeague Cup Final win over Netherton United after goalkeeper George Harding turned in a man of the match display.
The game finished 0-0 and Netherton also failed to score in the penalty shootout that followed. Bourne won it 3-0.
There was also penalty drama for a Bourne team in the Junior Alliance Under 12 League Cup quarter-finals. Bourne Red won a shootout in St Ives 11-10 after a 2-2 draw to join Bourne Claret, 1-0 winners at Whittlesey in the semi-finals. Jack Burke scored the Clarets.
Nene Valley also eased into the last four with a 4-2 win over YDP. Haggai Peters (2), Maisie Henry and Harry Minney scored for the winners. The final quarter-final between Stamford and RTC is scheduled for this Sunday.
Oundle and Wisbech St Mary stormed into the Under 12 Hereward Cup semi-finals with big wins. Ian Vojtus scored five for Oundle in a 120 romp at Stanground, while Alex Kilby hit a hat-trick for Wisbech St Mary in a 9-2 success at Hampton.
Park Farm are in the Under 14 League Cup Final following a 3-2 win over Deeping Rangers Claret. Malamine Singhateh (2) and Dexter Willingham scored.
Deeping Rangers Blue lost a quarter-final 3-1 to ICA for
whom Caleb Duberry-Rawlings (2) and Mantas Antanavicius were on target.
There are just three points separating the top five in Under 12 Division three. Thorpe Wood missed a chance to go top by drawing 0-0 with Crowland, while third-placed Malborne were surprisingly beaten 3-2 at Glinton & Northborough. Jaiden Lewis, Joey Dickens and Ethen Griffin
scored for the winners.
Hampton beat Stanground 3-1 in the Under 18 League Cup Final. Daniel Cardoso, Jesse Manu and Dhruv Karavdra scored for Hampton with Kieran Lewis replying for Stanground.
P’BORO LEAGUE
Third-placed Warboys Town won the big midweek top-of-the-table clash at Stanground
Sports 3-1 to move within two points of leaders Uppingham with two games in hand.
Moulton Harrox are level on points with the leaders, also with two games in hand, after a 4-0 Tuesday win over Whittlesey Reserves.
Stanground had ended the title challenge of Crowland with a 6-1 weekend beating. Ryan Pratt and Evander Jose
scored two apiece for the city side.
Cardea lost for just the second time in Division One at the weekend, 3-2 at home to third placed Chatteris Town before holding leaders and title favourites Peterborough City to a 2-2 Tuesday draw.
Peterborough Rangers need a maximum of five points from three games to win Division Three after a 1-1 draw at Leverington Res. Sam Ward scored for the Lions.
YDP won the Northants Area Cup for the second year in a row with a 6-0 thrashing of Spratton Reserves.
Peterborough City Reserves have taken over at the top of Division Four after an 11-1 hammering of FC Hampton A and a 2-1 defeat for previous leaders Stamford AFC Reserves at Cardea Reserves.
