ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS

The cast has reunited for a one-off special looking back at the hit BBC sitcom. The UKTV show, to air later this year, sees Jane Horrocks (Bubble), Joanna Lumley (Patsy), Jennifer Saunders (Eddie) and Julia Sawalha (Saffy) all come together for the first time since 2016.

SUN CREAM

Sales of sun cream slumped 25% this month compared to June last year amid the rotten weather. Salad sales also fell by 11% year on year but soup sales were up 24%, data analysis firm Kantar found.

FROTHY PINTS

The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) wants a 100% liquid pint in pubs enshrined in law. Current guidance says beer with a foamy head has to be at least 95% liquid. Last month, the Chartered Trading Standards Institute found 86% of pints were short-measured, losing the average beer drinker £88.40 a year.

MUSIC FESTIVALS

Glasto is on next week but 45 other events have been cancelled or postponed so far this year, including Standon Calling and Bluedot. The Associatio­n of Independen­t Festivals predicts this number could more than double by the end of the year. Last year, 36 such events were cancelled.

RAIL SEASON TICKETS

The percentage of train journeys made using season tickets has fallen to a record low, according to new figures. Office of Rail and Road (ORR) data shows the tickets accounted for just 13% of the 1.6 billion journeys taken on Britain’s railways in the year to the end of March. That’s down from 15% during the previous 12 months, and the lowest percentage in records dating back to 1987. TANKING
