Life-saving defib

-

ANOTHER lifesaving defibrillator has been installed in Tamworth.

Last week we told how one had been unveiled at the Tamworth Arms pub and the latest is at a new housing development, Amington Gardens.

Whg worked with developers Redrow and charity Tamworth Have a Heart to provide the essential life-saving tool for anyone who is in cardiac arrest, the first whg has had installed on one of its blocks. It was provided by Tamworth Have a Heart, who raise funds to place more defibrillators into the community and maintain them.

It is now available for use and accessible to anyone. It can be found on the apartment suite on the corner of Ellastone Way, Boundary Drive and Florence Drive.

Whg has 34 affordable homes under this phase of the Redrow development, where around 1,100 houses are being built as part of a new garden village.

Keith Dawson from Tamworth Have a Heart said: “I’d like to thank Redrow for their generous donation of funds enabling us to install this AED, and also whg for allowing it to be installed on their apartment block.”

Matthew Vale, assistant director of construction and quality at whg, said: “We are delighted to be able to support the Amington community and it is wonderful to know this potentially life-saving equipment is now on hand in the case of an emergency.

“We want to build homes and communities where people feel safe, and this vital piece of equipment will help us achieve that.”

Richard Cuthbertson, Redrow Midlands’ area construction manager, added: “For 50 years, we’ve been building high-quality homes for our customers and having this essential lifesaving equipment available to them and the public is something every community should have. I hope to see more of this in the future.”
