Police investigating after a body found on luxury estate
POLICE are investigating after a man’s body was found on a luxury housing estate near Tamworth.
Emergency service crews were called at around 5am last Tuesday, June 4, to Clifton Park, a gated estate with ‘exclusive homes’ off Netherseal Road in Clifton Campville.
There they discovered the body of a man. West Midlands Ambulance Service was also called to the scene but tragically nothing could be done to save him.
Staffordshire Police has since confirmed that Henry Coupe, aged 50, was the man found dead. Speciallytrained officers are continuing to support his family at this difficult time whilst an investigation to establish the circumstances leading up to his death is still ongoing.
A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: “We were called at 4.56am to an incident on Netherseal Road, Clifton Campville. One ambulance and an East Midlands Ambulance Service crew attended the scene.
“Upon arrival we found a man. Unfortunately, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased at the scene.”
Staffordshire Police said it was investigating the cause of the man’s death and was quizzing people in the area. It said there would be an increased presence in the area, which is just north of the village, in the coming days.
In a statement, a Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: “We have launched an investigation following the death of a man near Tamworth. We were called just after 5am on Tuesday (June 4) to a report of a body being found in Clifton Park, Clifton Campville.
“West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the scene. Sadly, the man was pronounced dead just before 5.30am. An investigation to establish the cause of the death is underway.

In an update, a spokeswoman for the force said: “Detectives investigating the unexplained death of a man in a village near Tamworth have named him. Henry Coupe, aged 50, was sadly found deceased near his home in Clifton Campville at around 5am on Tuesday, 4 June.
“Specially-trained officers are continuing to support his family at this difficult time whilst an investigation to establish the circumstances leading up to his death is ongoing.
