CARDIFF boss Erol Bulut says he could hand Aaron Ramsey his first start in five months after the Wales captain returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Having been out with a knee injury sustained in training after the 2-0 win over Swansea in September, Ramsey has been eased back into the fold, making appearances off the bench in the Bluebirds’ defeats to Preston and West Bromwich Albion.

He made his long-awaited return at half-time at Deepdale at the weekend before getting another half an hour under his belt against the Baggies on Tuesday night.

But the midfielder could now make his first Bluebirds start of 2024 against Norwich this weekend, with Bulut saying he was “feeling good” after his cameo at The Hawthorns.

“Aaron was many months out and he is trying really, really hard,” Bulut said after Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat.

“He could start at the weekend, we never know, we will have to wait and see.

“After the last game where he played 45 minutes he was feeling good and after tonight he was also feeling good.”

However, one player not making the trip to Carrow Road on Saturday is goalkeeper Jak Alnwick, with Bulut confirming that he has suffered a knee injury.

The knock will likely only keep the 30-year-old out of action for a matter of days, but ruled him out of the visit to West Brom, with January signing Ethan Horvath making his debut between the sticks in his place.

“Jak got injured on his knee, a ligament problem,” explained Bulut at full-time at The Hawthorns.

“I think one week or 10 days he will be out.”

Horvath - a deadline-day loan signing from Nottingham Forest - was neat on the ball against the Baggies, but didn’t exactly set the world alight, picking the ball out of his net inside the first minute before Andreas Weimann sealed the win for the hosts late on.
