City boss would love to sign Kent... but doubts he can

-

EROL Bulut said he would sign Ryan Kent in a heartbeat but doubts it will happen because of the other offers the Fenerbahce winger has on the table.

The wide man moved to Turkey last summer but has played just seven league games so far – 15 in all competitions – and has been linked with moves to numerous clubs this month.

Kent, who is able to play on either flank, is known for his assist record, notching up 56 in 218 games for Rangers.

He has one goal and two assists in half a season at Fenerbahce so far. And his lack of game time led to Haber claiming Hull, Cardiff and ElEttifaq,

managed by his old Rangers boss Steven Gerrard, are keen.

Bulut would love to sign Kent, but believes it’s unlikely.

“I read that. If you ask me if I want him, immediately I would sign him. From my side it would be no problem,” Bulut said when asked about Kent.

“I think and I know he also has other offers, from Premier League Sheffield United.

“So we don’t need to continue to speak. We cannot do it when a Premier League club is after him. Or some other club give him more or the deal can do quicker.

“But if we have the possibility, you can be sure we will go for it.”

Today, reports from journalist Zafer Ertas claim the Championship duo have submitted offers to sign the player.

While Bulut didn’t exactly rule out the possibility of signing Ryan Giles, he did put an end to talk of Axel Tuanzebe joining the Bluebirds.

The former Manchester United centre-back is currently with Ipswich Town, but has played just six Championship games for them this season after moving there from Old Trafford last year.

Cardiff were mentioned in dispatches as a club who were interested in signing the defender, but Bulut swiftly ruled that out when asked about the links.

Aaron Ramsey has returned to training for the first time since suffering a knee injury after the South Wales derby victory back in September.

Ramsey has been sidelined for longer than many anticipated, but there finally appears to be a chink of light at the end of the tunnel, with the Wales captain yesterday taking part in his first team training session.

“Today Ramsey trained for the first time with us so that’s a good, positive point,” Bulut said. “Today was only the first part with us. Not total training. We have to go step by step. Tomorrow we will see then next week he will be more involved in sessions.”
