Pledge to be a 'green' sailor

Kate Fortnam and the team will be on hand on stand B10 to share top tips and advice on how to keep your sailing and your club as green as possible, answer questions and help with your choices of environmen­tally friendly products.

Highlighti­ng the vital role that seagrass plays in capturing carbon, there will also be some seagrass-themed games to get involved in, with the chance to win some fantastic prizes including a family pass to the National

Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, and an OverBoard waterproof dry bag and phone case.

e team will also be encouragin­g visitors to sign up to e Green

Blue Boating Pledge, sharing their commitment to protecting and respecting the environmen­t through some simple, practical measures which have a positive impact on the wellbeing of inland and coastal habitats and wildlife.

e Pledge is free to join and participan­ts get a Pledge Pack with best practice lea ets and a certi cate. You can also make your pledge via e Green Blue website.

e much-anticipate­d announceme­nt of the University Sailing Sustainabi­lity Challenge winner will take place at 1.15pm on Saturday on the Main Stage, and is another regular show initiative that attracts big crowds, rewarding undergradu­ates for environmen­tal sailing initiative­s.
