Fareham and Moneyfields stage stunning recovery acts

-

Fareham staged a stunning late comeback to lift the Clanfield Cup.

Trailing 2-0 to Clanfield after 85 minutes of the Westleigh Park showpiece, the Creeksiders looked dead and buried.

But Brandon Jewell one of seven subs used by boss Simon Woods - pulled one back when he was left unmarked from a corner and volleyed in from close range.

Fareham were level on 87 minutes when Dan Harding’s 25-yard shot fizzed over the head of half-time sub Derek Harding.

And Charlie Cooper completed the amazing turnaround. Picking up the ball in the centre circle, he ran at a retreating defence before scoring.

Another side producing a superb recovery were Moneyfields at Chichester City. In a memorial game for Graeme Gee, Moneys came from 0-3 down at halftime and 1-4 down after 69 minutes to draw 4-4 at Oaklands Park.

Sub Jafer Mohammedkier, who only signed for the club last week, struck twice in the 72nd and 80th minutes before Taylor Crook, dual signed from Hawks, levelled in stoppage time.

Chi led 3-0 at the interval through goals from Josh Clack, Ethan Prichard and Isaac Bello.

James Franklyn pulled one back on the hour mark before Clark scored his second nine minutes later.
