The British GP - being held at Silverstone on Sunday, - is one of only two races to have featured in every F1 World Championship since 1958. The other is the Italian GP.

1970

Year that Jochen Rindt won his only British GP, at Brands Hatch. He was tragically killed at the Italian GP later that season.

After winning five of the first 10 GPS, no-one could catch him in the three that remained and he was posthumously awarded the World title.

1957

Year that Johnny Herbert’s Silverstone win brought him his maiden World Championship success.

480,000

Estimated attendance over the whole British GP weekend in 2023, a new record.

Venues that have staged the race: Brooklands (x 2), Aintree (x 4), Brands Hatch (x 12) and Silverstone (x 59).

1976

The year that James Hunt, (pictured left), won the event in July, only to be disqualified two months later and Niki Lauda awarded the victory instead.

Hunt’s crime – he had not completed a full lap of the track after being involved in a first corner crash, instead driving through an access road back to the pits.

£349

Cheapest three-day admission price for the British Grand Prix (as of June 25). Ticket price includes admission to evening concerts headlined by Stormzy, Pete Tong & The Heritage Orchestra and Rudimental.
