Georgia is new Brave skipper for Hundred

-

James Vince and Georgia

Adams will captain Southern Brave during the fourth edition of The Hundred.

Both players skipper their domestic sides, Hampshire and Southern Vipers respectively, with the duo having previously been in Hundred-winning teams.

Vince led Brave to the men’s title in the competition’s inaugural year, 2021, while Adams played under the now retired Anya Shrubsole as the women’s team defeated Northern Superchargers in last year’s final.

Adams also won the women’s Hundred in 2021 when the Oval Invincibles beat Brave in the final.

The daughter of former Sussex star Chris Adams skippered Vipers to a historic double in 2023, as the team won both the 50-over Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and 20-over Charlotte Edwards Cup.

She said: “It’s a privilege to be taking over from Anya, who was an amazing captain and someone the whole team looked up to. I’m super excited to get going and really looking forward to leading a fantastic group of players.”

Vince said: “The Hundred is so fast-paced you’re always having to stay two steps ahead, so it’s been a challenge but one I’ve really enjoyed.”

Brave kick off their campaigns at The Utilita Bowl on Wednesday, July 24 against London Spirit, with tickets on general sale priced at £5 for juniors aged 3-15 (free for under-3s) and adults starting from £26.

All games will again be live on Sky Sports and BBC broadcast and digital channels throughout the competition.

Adams has so far scored 240 runs at 40.80 in Vipers’ six Rachel Heyhoe-flint Trophy ties in 2024.

Vipers are currently joint second in the table, having won four and lost two so far. Simon Carter
