Fans shouldn’t sugar-coat subpar results

-

The people with the criticism have probably watched 1 game this season and that was Bolton on Sky. Saw Yengi play well and then wonder why he isn't playing. If they watched Yengi a week later against Shrewsbury they would of seen he's not ready for week in week out football yet. Bishop is a very good striker who will play Championship football next season.

Keep up the good work Colby. Don’t listen to negative comments. The true Pompey fans know what you mean to the team.

Stephen Morby

Tricky one this. Slagging a player off is one thing, an honest appraisal of a striker having a few bad games and missing chances that they really should score is a whole different matter.

Bishop has himself quite a high standard to live up to and missing chances like a few of those he has missed recently is a worry, even more so when there is very limited cover in that department.

I never said he was useless, or any words to that effect, but I did imply it was a concern that he was struggling to find the net (both reasonable and true). In short, yes, we should be getting behind ALL the players when things aren't going our way, but at the same time we cannot and should not be expected to sugar-coat anything and happy-clap sub-par performances or results. Don't get the criticism, the guy’s been great for us.

Jeff Stone

No idea what’s going on in the head of some of the fans. How can anyone be negative when he’s close to being the league’s top scorer? I’m also over the fans that refuse to see being top as a positive and prefer to use the bad run we had as their focus.
