Shopping Centre helps spread a bit of festive cheer

-

Over 230 gifts were donated for the Santa for A Senior campaign

Fareham Shopping Centre, together with Home Instead and The Crafty Makery, supported seniors across the borough over the Christmas period.

In an effort to bring joy to residents during the festive season, centre officials organised a gift-giving initiative called ‘Santa for A Senior - Give a Gift’.

This project garnered support from Fareham shoppers and the wider community, who generously contributed gifts placed in a life-sized donation box near Café Giardino on the mall.

The donation box was open on the mall for contributions from November 17 to December 20. A team of volunteers from The Crafty Makery wrapped all the donated gifts before being distributed by Home Instead.

Over 230 gifts were donated for the Santa for A Senior campaign, touching hearts across the community. Gifts were distributed to Community First festive lunches, Methodist Housing Association (MHA), Gosport Xmas Lunch, Older Person Wards at Gosport War Memorial Hospital and Fareham Women’s Refuge.

John James (Home Instead), Lesley Ralls (The Crafty Makery) and centre manager Mike Taylor, alongside Jo Isgar from Community First, presented gifts donated by customers as part of the Santa for a Senior gift-giving campaign.

These specific gifts were directed towards Community First’s festive lunches, ensuring companionship for those spending Christmas alone.
