ACCESSORIES Truma and Maxview celebrate major anniversaries

-

Truma is celebrating its seventy-fifth anniversary this year, which it will mark with the launch of a range of new products.

Maxview is also celebrating a major anniversary this year, as 2024 marks its sixtieth year in business.

Established in 1964, Maxview started life as a small Norfolk company but is now a leading UK manufacturer of terrestrial, satellite and, more recently, internet-based entertainment products favoured by campervanners, caravanners and motorhomers.

“To this day, we continue to be proud of our family-run business,” Director, Allan Clark, said. “We are very happy to be celebrating 60 years and continue to innovate with further internet systems providing internet TV connectivity wherever your adventure takes you!”

Meanwhile, German company, Truma, which is most famous for its motorhome and caravan heating systems, started when the company founder, Philipp Kreis, began developing gas lamps.

Due to increasing demand, he registered the business on 27 October 1949, naming his company Truma – a name inspired by the then US president, Harry S Truman.

Just over a decade later in 1961 the Truma-matic was introduced as the first officially recognised caravan heater.

In 1983, Truma moved to a new, modern premises in Putzbrunn where a large climatic chamber suitable for motorhomes was also created.

Truma launched the new Combi motorhome heater in 2007. It replaced the Trumatic-C heater, of which over 500,000 units had been manufactured. Truma also expanded its airconditioning business with the launch of the Aventa roof-mounted airconditioning series in 2011.

In 2021, Truma entered the world of digitalisation in the sector, when the iNet X System started entering motorhomes as a central operating system. Control over the Truma devices in the vehicle, status queries in real time, intuitive operation and advanced control via app – all this is possible with the iNet X System.
