Caddy helps the Dynamos knock spots off Leopards

Haywards Heath & District Table Tennis League Cuckfield Dynamos beat Lindfield Leopards 6-4 in the clash of the mid-table teams in the Premier Division.

Cuckfield's Matt Caddy was player of the match with three superb wins over Ed Harvey, Malcolm Skates and Jeff Triggs, overcoming the latter, 11-9 in the fifth.

Richard Caddy had two good wins versus Jeff and

Malcolm but went down in four games to Ed, who also beat Tony Rowell. Tony then went on to earn a point for his side against Malcolm.

Crawley Knights won 7-3 as they beat Haywards Heath All-Play.

Peter Cracknell, Fawzi Yousif and Jozef Krakovsky all won two matches each for Crawley then Peter and Jozef teamed up to claim The doubles.

For All-Play, Charlie Hough won two of his matches versus Fawzi and Jozef, but could not make it a hat trick, when Peter prevailed 11-6 in the final game.

The top two teams in the Conference could not be separated as Thunderbol­ts and One Hit Wonders drew 5-5.

Thunderbol­ts started well and took a commanding 4-0 lead through Matt Power (2), Sam Stoner and Andy Steel.

Wonders then came back to halve the deficit to 2-4 with wins by Paul Brinkhurst over Andy, and John Bridger over Sam.

Andy put Thunderbol­ts 5-2 up but Wonders were not finished and came storming back, with Paul and John both winning their final singles matches then the doubles to square the match.

Pingwins closed the gap to three points on their opponents, X-Men, whom they defeated 7-3. The Polhill duo of David and Dan both gained trebles and together also won the doubles.

Colin Cooper, Steve Johnson

and Peter Caddy all beat Matt Chapman to take three points for the X-Men.

Blade Runners had a good 7-3 victory over Magiks, the team immediatel­y above them in the league table.

Player of the match, Jen Watkins, kept up her great form by beating her three experience­d opponents Jim Griffin, Mel Sims and Phil Harvey.

Sam Browning won two versus Mel and Phil, then the doubles with Jon Buckley. Jon had a good 3-0 win over Phil. Magiks’ points came from Jim with two and Mel with one win.
