Padel club bids for booze licence
All areas: Planned sports venue applies for alcohol licence
In this week’s public notices, Maidenhead Padel club has applied for a licence to sell alcohol and provide latenight music.
There are also several road closures which look set to affect areas around Maidenhead and Cookham.
Licensing
A padel club which is coming to Maidenhead has applied for a licence to sell alcohol on and off its premises.
The licence for Maidenhead Padel, proposes to allow alcohol sales between the hours of 10am to 11pm Monday to Wednesday, and 10am to 1am from Thursday to Saturday.
It also proposes to allow alcohol sales between noon and 11pm on Sundays.
The club, located at Padel Pavilion in Braywick Road, has also applied for permission to host late night live and recorded music between 11pm and 1am from
Thursday to Saturday.
Maidenhead Padel was given permission to revamp the old SportAble building into a sports facility by RBWM in March.
Responses to the application should be submitted via post to the council offices in Maidenhead Town Hall or emailed to licensing@RBWM.gov.uk
The deadline is June 10.
Road closures
The council has advised it intends to close part of Broadway in Maidenhead early next month.
The closure is to allow the demolition of Broadway carpark that could otherwise pose a risk to public safety.
From June 4 to June 13, the road will be closed to vehicles between its junction with Keys Place and Queen Street.
A diversion route will be available via A308, A4 and High Street.
The hours of enforcement are 9am to 3pm Monday – Friday for the above dates.
A section of The Pound in Cookham is also set to close next month.
The road will be closed to traffic between its junction at Poundfield Lane to the boundary with Teleport House.
Hours of closure are 7pm to 10pm between June 3 and June 7.
RBWM has advised the closure is needed to allow highway works that include stopcock renewal and leak investigations which could endanger the public.
Warners Hill in Cookham Dean will too see a partial closure.
Between 9.30am and 4pm from May 21 till May 23, vehicles will be unable to use the road from Fairhill Cottage for 30 metres.
A diversion via Dean Lane and Hills Lane will be available.
The closure is necessary to install a new pole.
In Waltham St Lawrence, Sill Bridge Lane will be closed to traffic on Monday May 20.
For the day, the road will be closed between 8am and 5pm to allow the highway to be cleared of blockages.
