Music festival coming to big top
A new live music festival, Live at The Big Top, is coming to Ayrshire in January, featuring a diverse range of acts that promise to deliver incredible nights of live music under the iconic big top tent.
The event will kick off at Ayrshire Athletics Arena in Kilmarnock on Friday, January 3 with Scottish folkrock superstars Manran, supported by the dynamic Ross Couper Band.
Known for their high-energy performances and powerful blend of traditional and modern sounds, Manran will set the stage for an exhilarating start to the festivities.
The excitement continues with The Story of Swing on Friday, January 24, presented by award-winning vocalist and trumpet player Gareth John, featuring the SOS Big Band. This show will take audiences on a nostalgic journey through the golden era of swing, from the Rat Pack to Robbie Williams.
On Saturday, January 25, an alternative to a traditional Burns Night will be on offer as fans of poetic and genre-defying music will be captivated by LYR , the super group featuring Richard Walters, Simon Armitage, and Patrick Pearson. Supporting LYR is rising star Nati, whose soulful vocals and heartwarming story have garnered her a dedicated following.
Toploader, the English rock band famed for their cover of King Harvest’s US hit ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’, will bring their infectious energy to the stage on Saturday, January 18, supported by the talented Ben Walker and Katie Nicole.
Rounding off the event on Thursday, January 30, is The Pink Floyd Experience celebrating 50 years of the legendary album The Dark Side of The Moon. This highly authentic show will recreate the sights and sounds of Pink Floyd in concert, with support from the soulful Jeremy Levif.
