There’s a new middle way between office life and working in your PJs!

SINCE lockdown, office life has become a fading memory for many workers – but the The Atkins Building, in Hinckley, is a middle way between poring over your laptop in your dressing gown and the more formal routines of office life.

The Victorian hosiery factory turned business centre is launching a flexible work space solution, offering work space at a daily rate starting at £23 plus VAT.

Organisers say it is ideally suited for a freelancer waiting for Wi-Fi installation at home; a home worker who occasionally needs an office; a start-up business wanting to work in a more professional environment, or a lone worker just needing a change of scene.

A desk is available to book in half-day and full-day options.

The space and its facilities will be available to view at a launch event on Wednesday, April 17, from 9.30am to 11pm. There will also be an opportunity to meet members of the Leicestershire Business Advice Service.

According to business centre officer Rebecca Wilbur, benefits of using the co-working facility at The Atkins Building include improved work-life balance; increased productivity and creativity and networking opportunities.

It can also combat loneliness and isolation.

Ms Wilbur said: “Atkins Building’s Co-working space is a warm and welcoming open plan office that’s designed to accommodate people from different businesses to undertake their work in a comfortable and professional setting.

“This service has been created in response to the increase in flexible and hybrid working patterns.

“The space we have available will prove ideal for a wide range of businesses, lone workers, startups, or individuals who just fancy a change from the spare bedroom or kitchen table.

“We offer a range of flexible options and I hope that anybody interested in the facilities will come and take a tour on April 17 and see what the Atkins can offer.”

A day at Atkins Building coworking from 8.30am-5pm costs £27.60 (£23 plus VAT) and this includes a large desk, office chair, laptop riser, mouse, mouse mat, Wi-Fi, access to a printer and photocopier, break-out areas and kitchen and bathroom facilities.

There is also a coffee inclusion version where you can order two hot drinks of your choice from the on-site Hansom Café for £34.80 (£29 plus VAT).

Half-day options with or without coffee are available as well.
