Final repeat in opening round of Senior Cup

THERE will be a repeat of last season’s final in the first round of the North Gloucester­shire Combinatio­n Senior Cup.

Longlevens upset the odds to beat Matson 42-32 at Kingsholm last May, and they meet again at Redwell Road on April 9. Old Richians host Chosen Hill, Coney Hill entertain Old Centralian­s and Hucclecote host Gordon League.

The Junior Cup, on April 10, has Old Cryptians meeting Longlevens II, Gordon League II hosting Chosen Hill II and Old Centralian­s II entertaini­ng Widden Old Boys II, with byes for Matson II, Coney Hill II, Hucclecote II, Gloucester Old Boys and Brockworth.

The last eight of the Glanville Cup sees Old Cryptians II meet Gloucester Old Boys II on April 11, while on April 18 Chosen Hill III meet Longlevens III, Widden II host Matson III and Gloucester All Blues face Gordon League III.

In Stroud, the Senior Cup will be a round-robin event between Dursley, Stroud and Cirenceste­r.

In the Junior Cup, Painswick host Minchinham­pton and Fairford meet Dursley II, while the Bill Adams Cup quarter-finals sees Dursley III host Wotton and Stroud II meet Cainscross, with byes for Minchinham­pton Rams and Cirenceste­r II. Rams host the winners of Stroud II v Cainscross, and Cirenceste­r II entertain Dursley III or Wotton.

The Forest of Dean Senior Cup sees Drybrook meet Cinderford II in the semi-finals, with the winners facing Newent in the final at Cinderford on May 5, with Lydney having withdrawn.

In the Junior Cup, Drybrook II meet Berry Hill. The winner plays Cinderford III in the semifinal as Ross-on-wye have pulled out. The winner of that will then play Bream or Lydney II in the final at Berry Hill on May 4.

The Minor Cup sees Drybrook III face Newent II meet the winners of the Westbury-on-severn v Bream II tie in the semifinals. The winners of that face Berry Hill II or Cinderford IV in the final at Drybrook on May 3.
