City restaurant run by celebrity chef up for prize
A GLASGOW restaurant run by a celebrity chef is up for a top award.
Salt & Chilli Oriental in Shawlands has been shortlisted for the Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year Awards 2024.
The top eatery – which was recently named the Best Chinese in Scotland at the Deliveroo Awards – is owned by celeb chef Jimmy Lee.
The Uber Eats awards aim to shine a light and champion small restaurants across the United Kingdom.
As part of the awards, over 40 cuisine types will be represented across the 130 venues that will be going headtohead for the £ 100,000 grand prize in November.
Ahead of the event, food lovers are being urged to vote for their favourite shortlisted restaurants from across the country.
After that, the finalists will be invited to create their ‘ hero dish’ for a panel of judges, which will decide who bags the huge cash prize.
Here are all the Scottish venues that have been shortlisted: TOFU Asian Fusion on Dumbarton Road in Glasgow; Salt & Chilli
Oriental on Kilmarnock Road in Glasgow; Chilo’s Burgers on Paisley Road in Glasgow; Figo’s on Kilmarnock Road in Glasgow; Damasqino on Saltmarket in Glasgow; Yippon on George Street in Glasgow; Razzo, Edinburgh; El Perro Bibimbap, Glasgow; Mana Poke, Edinburgh.
