TikTok star and Gers legend to kick off city’s Memory Walk
A TIKTOK star and former Rangers player are set to kick off a fundraising walk for dementia in Glasgow.
Social media sensation Graeme Sutherland and former professional footballer Mark Hateley will open the Glasgow Memory Walk on September 29, organised by Alzheimer Scotland.
The walk at Crownpoint Sports Complex is one of four across Scotland in September, aimed at raising funds for dementia care, research, and improvements in brain health.
Graeme will participate with his mum, Linda, 69, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease 10 years ago. He shares updates on TikTok which often feature his mum.
He said: “Alzheimer Scotland is a charity close to my heart because of my mum’s Alzheimer’s journey.
“They have helped my family out so much and continue to help so many others.
“When you first get a diagnosis there isn’t much information or support, but Alzheimer Scotland can provide so much help.
“They make sure you have all the information you need about what you’re entitled to and what your options are.
“Even if you just need to chat, there is always someone available helping both the carer and the person living with dementia.
“It’s a privilege to be opening the Glasgow Memory Walk and I look forward to walking for such a good cause.”
Hateley said money raised at the walk will support people living with dementia and those who care for them across Scotland.
