Tele contest winner’s £5k getaway to Malta
A DELIGHTED Evening Telegraph reader has won an all-expenses-paid trip to sunny Malta.
Hundreds of people entered and it was Arlene Shirkey who was the lucky winner of the Evening Telegraph and Hays Travel Dundee & Broughty Ferry competition.
We caught up with her as she popped into Hays Travel Dundee to check out the details of her prize.
Arlene’s prize, worth £5,000, includes an all-inclusive family holiday to the award-winning fourstar DB Seabank Resort and Spa on the Maltese coast, as well as cash to spend while she soaks up the sunshine on the golden beaches of the Mediterranean.
Arlene will jet off from Glasgow airport with her husband and two grandchildren in October.
“When I got the phone call, I couldn’t believe it. At first, I thought it was a joke,” said the lucky winner.
“You just don’t believe these things are real.
“It is really exciting. I have never been to Malta, me and my husband usually go to Benidorm, so its a bit of a change of scenery.
“My grandchildren are very excited, they were screaming and running about when I told them.”
