Weigh to go Margaret!
Christmas came early for one East Kilbride woman after a remarkable weight loss.
Just 10 months after joining, Margaret McNutt has lost an amazing four stone following the Slimming World Food Optimising plan.
Margaret joined in February 2023 and her consultant and fellow members were all absolutely thrilled for her when she picked up her four stone award just before Christmas.
Margaret joined when her size 20 clothes to get too tight and after seeing a holiday snap of herself, she decided she wanted to do something about her weight and went along to join her local Tuesday evening group in Our Lady of Lourdes Church Hall, Westwood.
From the very beginning, Margaret loved Slimming World’s unique healthy eating plan because she enjoys big portions and could still enjoy the types of meals she loved.
Margaret’s consultant, Margaret McLaughlin, said “I’m so proud of Margaret’s achievements to date. She has been an absolutely fantastic role model in our group, consistently losing weight and sharing her ideas with other members.
“Tips like always being well organised, batch cooking and freezing meals so that when you’re in a hurry there’s always a delicious meal ready for you.
“She is always telling us about having healthy snack options in the fridge like tandoori chicken thighs and savoury pork mince to wrap in lettuce leaves or even vegetable soup for when you need a snack. These are just some of the ideas are tips she has shared to help others on their journey too.
“I’ve been so chuffed watching Margaret’s journey and I’ll be so excited to see her achieve her dream weight in the next few months.”
Margaret has found many benefits from having lost weight, one being that the arthritis in her back and hips is much easier to manage, and pain she had in her knee has completely disappeared.
Her high blood pressure has returned to normal too. She’s now able to walk without the pain and breathlessness she experienced before.
If you would like to join any of Margaret McLaughlin’s slimming groups you can contact her on 07478714644 or pop along.
Her groups run every Tuesday in Our Lady of Lourdes at 5.30pm or 7pm and every Saturday morning in Mossneuk Parish Church, Gardenhall, at 8am and 9.30am.
