Goal star Channy steps up to dazzle

ON FIRE: Hwang Hee-chan

WOLVES boss Gary O’Neil believes the best is yet to come from top-scorer Hwang Hee-chan.

The South Korea international winger has been on fire for the club, with eight goals in 17 Premier League matches so far this season.

And O’Neil – who has already helped mastermind fine victories over champions Manchester City and fellow big guns Tottenham this term – hopes to mould 27-year-old Hee-chan into an even bigger force to be reckoned with.

O’Neil said: “He’s had an incredible improvement at the football club, especially from what he was doing previously.

“He wasn’t a regular starter last season, so to go from that to scoring eight goals in 17 games is a real big improvement from him.

“He’s signed his new contract as well, which is obviously fantastic for him and the club.

“I’m not sure how much we can push him, but Channy is a great lad. He’ll keep working extremely hard and take on board everything.

“He’ll put the team before himself, so we’ve just got to keep pushing and see where we can get him to.”

Wolves were on the end of a 3-0 away loss to West Ham last Sunday, but five wins and four draws from their opening 17 games has given the boss plenty of belief ahead of the visit of Chelsea – and a mouth-watering meeting with Mauricio Pochettino.

O’Neil (below) said: “I feel privileged to be working at a top club like I am and being able to pit my wits against top managers.” History is also firmly stacked on Wolves’ side, having last lost to Chelsea at Molineux more than four years ago and won two of their last three home fixtures with the London club.
