Charity secures £24k boost
ONE of Ayrshire’s best known charities has secured the backing of another leading local firm as a “founding sponsor” for its cancer support centre in Ayr.
Ayrshire Cancer Support has announced TCS Construction Consultants as a founding sponsor of its centre in Prestwick Road.
In 2021, upon approval of planning permission for the building, several opportunities were released for both individuals and businesses to become founders by raising or donating funds for specific spaces within the new centre.
TCS Construction Consultants also pledged to sponsor three car parking spaces at the front of the building, with their fundraising activities and donations surpassing their goal of £9,000 by 2022.
Their employees also raised £24,294 over two years for Ayrshire Cancer Support.
Nicola George, head of fundraising at Ayrshire Cancer Support, said: “On average each year we provide over 22,000 sessions which help people with cancer, their families and friends with emotional support and practical help which wouldn’t be possible without the unfaltering support of incredible corporate partners like TCS.
“I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all at TCS for their commitment and enthusiasm in raising this phenomenal figure which will help all children, young people and adults affected by cancer in Ayrshire.”
Martin Muir, senior partner at TCS, which is based in Kilmarnock, said: “The unfortunate likelihood is that we shall all be affected by cancer in one way or another and ensuring the ongoing success of ACS is vital to maximising the positive outcomes for those affected.”
