Hayleys Fentons, the first and largest company in Sri Lanka in the mechanical, electrical and plumbing sector, contracted with Advantis 3PL Plus, the market leader in third party logistics (3PL), for fire protection and detection system for the warehouse, a mezzanine area of 2800 square metres and additional storage space of 8300 square metres.

This follows to provide complete fire systems for its landmark expansion project, Phase 2 of Advantis Logistics City, which stands as Sri Lanka’s largest distribution hub spanning across 455,000 sq. ft.

Hayleys Fentons delivered a comprehensive successful completion of fire systems for Phase 1 of Advantis Logistics City in 2019.

This project earned a Gold award at the 2023 National Project Management Excellence Awards for Best Managed Project in the Construction/ Infrastructure Development Sector.

This tier-one addressable detection and alarm system is integrated to ensure immediate response to safeguard people and inventory. Its suppression system covers maximum protection requirements, ensuring that any incident can be managed effectively to minimise potential damage to the warehouse inventories.

Advantis 3PL Director Dharshana Wijemanne said, “At Advantis 3PL, our goal is to provide a reliable and safe environment for our staff members and our clients’ inventory. Investing in these modern fire systems supports business disruption mitigation. We extend our sincere thanks to Hayleys Fentons for closely collaborating with all project stakeholders to minimise disruption to warehouse operations.”

“The primary challenge was to deliver the project within a short timeframe, necessitating close coordination with the finishing stage of the civil works. This involved meticulous planning and customisation to ensure seamless integration of the new system with the existing infrastructure. A phased approach was implemented, maintaining strong communications with suppliers and using air freight for critical materials to ensure timely delivery,” stated Hayleys Fentons Director and CEO Sujith De Alwis.

Hayleys Fentons Managing Director Hasith Prematillake said, “The fire protection system at Advantis 3PL Plus Logistics City will significantly improve the warehouse environment for material storage, safeguarding the clients’ valuable inventories.”
