Over 1950 years ago, the Sigiriya Lion Rock was a solid base for a magnificen­t palace hideaway for a Lankan king. Sigiriya Rock Fortress has many legends and tales surroundin­g it. ‘Ayugiri Ayurveda Wellness Resort’, which comes under Browns Hotels and Resorts, was opened last week in Sigiriya. The opening heralds a new chapter in the Ayurveda wellness tourism landscape in Sri Lanka. The Chief Guest at the ceremony was Kotaro Katsuki, , Charge d’ Affaires ad interim and the Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Japan and CEO Browns Hotel Ekasath Wijeratne graced the occasion. The grand opening of ‘Ayugiri Ayurveda Wellness Resort’ was an enchanting event, where guests were captivated by the melodies of flutists and violinists resonating through Sigiriya’s lush landscapes.
