FOR most people, a day without checking their social media or posting online is a day incomplete.

Content creators have found ways to keep us entertained for hours on end by sharing jokes, skits, recipes, travel experiences and fashion.

To honour and celebrate their continued efforts, DStv, 947, Amarula Premium African Gin, LIFT and Oneeyed Jack have teamed up to host the annual DStv Content Creator Awards.

This year’s nominees were recently announced across 17 categories at the Radisson Red Rooftop in Rosebank.

Among the categories, five will be open for public voting, allowing fans to choose who takes home the awards.

These are the Cause Award, Emerging Creator Award, Song of the Year Award, the Trendsetter Award and the DStv Creator of the Year Award.

TV presenter and social media sensation, Sivuyile “Siv” Ngesi, pictured, bagged two nominations this year.

Ngesi’s campaign against period poverty will be up against other campaigns likes actress Nomzamo Mbatha’s EmpoweringHer and Bella Monsoon’s fight against GBV.

Ngesi is also nominated for the coveted DStv Creator of the Year Award, alongside the likes of Darren Campher, Khanyisa Unfiltered, Sifo The Cooking Husband, Nabilah Kariem and others.

Then it’s Tyla’s Water versus Tyler ICU’s Mnike, for the Song of the Year Award. Others in the category include Dlala Thukzin’s iPLAN, Dalie by Kamo Mphela, and Tshwala Bam by TitoM and Yuppe.

Organisers have also added a few more new categories such as Gaming Creator of the Year.

This will honour an outstanding individual who has demonstrated exceptional talent, creativity, influence and dedication in creating gaming content that resonates with audiences and contributes to the gaming community as a whole.
