UWC SOUTH EAST ASIA

- Isabelle and Jean-Guy, French; Paul (23), Maelys (20) and Priscille (17)

We moved to Singapore eight years ago, and all of our children have been attending UWCSEA ever since. Priscille is currently in

Grade 11; Paul graduated in 2018 and Maelys in 2022.

Our decision to choose UWCSEA was rooted in our desire to maintain the diverse mix of nationalities and cultures we experienced in Shanghai, where we spent six years prior to Singapore.

Priscille studied Mandarin in Shanghai. She could continue learning it through the school’s Home Languages Programme offered as part of the IBDP.

All our children have been involved in the school’s big annual events for many years, such as United Nations Evening where they performed on stage, showcasing their culture to the community.

Our family strongly believes in giving back to the community. As part of UWCSEA’s Service commitment, Priscille is involved in the Mercu Learning Buddies where she crafts activities and active games for young children, focusing on keeping them productively engaged and building positive relationships with them.

Isabelle is an active member of the Parents’ Association at UWCSEA Dover, where parents from diverse cultures and nationalities collaborate to organise events such as the Welcome Back BBQ and Community Fair for the College community.

THE SCHOOL SAYS…

The UWC Mission is “to use education as a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future”. From there stems our goal to provide a holistic, valuesbased education that supports our students to develop as individuals and as members of a global society.

What’s new?

Our new UWCSEA Grade 9/10 courses replace the legacy IGCSE programme, offering a mix of mandatory core subjects and free choice electives like English and Journalism, Enterprise Economics, Performance Psychology and more. This flexible approach tailors to student interests, creating powerful creative thinkers who resemble fresh graduates more than High School students.
