VP HIGHLIGHTS OVP’S FINANCIAL REPORTS
— Vice President Sara Duterte announced that her office has disbursed over P1 billion in medical assistance to approximately 22,970 Filipino families, or 119,234 individuals, nationwide from May 2023 to April 2024.
The vice president made the announcement during the Pasidungog awards held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu City on June 29, 2024, where partners in OVP operations were recognized.
Duterte reported that the Office of the Vice President (OVP) provided P150.5 million in burial assistance to 30,120 families nationwide from May 2023 to April 2024. The OVP allotted only P30.8 million to 6,175 families during the same period last year.
The OVP also collaborated with 12 civil society organizations, representing 26,000 members, through its “Mag Negosyo Ta ‘Day” entrepreneurship program.
She emphasized their commitment to offering every Filipino the opportunity to engage in nation-building through livelihood activities.
Duterte also highlighted the OVP’s free ride program, conducted in partnership with three bus companies, which served 735,202 Filipinos from May 2023 to May 2024.
The program deployed three buses for Metro Manila passengers and one bus each in the cities of Bacolod, Cebu and Davao.
The OVP also conducted 92 relief operations nationwide, assisting 205,692 families from May 2023 to April 2024.
This included the distribution of 39,138 relief bags and 15,000 food bags to calamity victims, with total aid amounting to P6.1 million.
Additionally, the OVP distributed 22,311 food bags under its Rice Program.
She also said through the “Pagbabago” campaign, the OVP distributed 186,159 bags to Filipino learners nationwide and planted 266,072 trees across the country.
The OVP also supported 14,462 malnourished and severely malnourished learners under its “Pansarap Buns” program for schoolchildren, distributing a total of 1.1 million fortified buns nationwide.
In her accomplishment report, Duterte said around P2.260 billion, or 92.3 percent of the allotted P2.448 billion for fiscal year 2023, was utilized for various socioeconomic services and programs, as well as other operations and activities of the OVP.
