Three drug pushers yield P3.4-M shabu in Cebu City
CEBU CITY — Three drug pushers who were arrested in two separate police operations here yielded P3.4 million worth of shabu, the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas reported.
The first anti-illegal drug operation was launched by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 7 (RDEU 7) at Sitio Black Cats, Barangay Duljo Fatima in Cebu City at around 10 p.m. on Monday, which resulted in the arrest of a 33-yearold e-bike driver identified only as alias “Demot.” The suspect is a resident of Spolarium Street in Barangay Duljo Fatima.
PRO 7 said alias “Demot” was found in possession of about 300 grams of shabu valued at P2,040,000.
Police said the suspect had been under surveillance for a week before the RDEU 7 launched the operation. The suspect, according to the RDEU 7, allegedly distributed up to 500 grams of shabu every week.
The suspect’s distribution area reportedly covered Mambaling, Duljo Fatima and neighboring barangay in Cebu City.
In a separate operation, the Inayawan Police Station arrested two high-value individuals at Sitio Bamboo, Barangay Basak Pardo, Cebu City.
The suspects, identified by the aliases “Melo,” 53, and “Sean,” 34, were apprehended with packets of suspected shabu. Both are residents of Sitio Ubca 3, Barangay Quiot, Cebu City.
The police confiscated 210 grams of shabu from the duo with a standard drug price of P1,428,000.
The suspects are now facing charges under Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In a statement, Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, PRO 7 director, cited the commitment to eradicating crime and illegal drugs from the streets, saying, “We will not stop until the last criminal, until the last drug pusher loiters the streets of Central Visayas.”
