BONG GO GRACES OWAG SHI FIESTA
KAYAPA, Nueva Vizcaya — With support from Sen. Bong Go, the local government unit (LGU) here has completed the construction of its municipal hall building which was inaugurated on Tuesday.
The senator gave a P32-million fund for the construction of the municipal building, in addition to the P40 million budget by the LGU.
The funding was made possible through the assistance of Rep. Luisa Lloren Cuaresma of the lone district of Nueva Vizcaya and former vice governor Jose Tomas Sr., now a board member, both of whom are close friends of the senator.
Also on Tuesday, Go joined the celebration of the town’s fiesta dubbed as “Owag Shi Kayapa 2024.”
The senator and actor Philip Salvador were welcomed by the people of Kayapa and LGU officials, headed by Mayor Elizabeth Balasya.
Joined by Cuaresma, Tomas and Board Member Edgardo Balgos, the senator also led the inauguration and turnover of the P11.5-million Super Health Center (SHC) in this municipality.
In addition to the 165 Malasakit Centers nationwide he helped establish under the Department of Health (DoH), Go said he also wants to help municipalities establish their own SHCs.
Of the P11.5 million given to this municipality for the SHC, P6 million was allotted for the construction of the building and P5 million for equipment, including X-ray and ultrasound machines.
Go said three more towns are now on his list for SHC projects in Nueva Vizcaya.
“These SHC projects in Nueva Vizcaya may also be provided with CT Scan in addition to X-ray and ultrasound equipment,” he said.
Go and Cuaresma also met with 500 beneficiaries who received groceries and cash assistance for their sustainable livelihood.
Cuaresma said this initiative is to provide financial assistance to the residents of this town as part of the Sustainable Livelihood Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Cuaresma thanked the senator for joining her in his commitment to uplift the lives of the marginalized sector in this upland town.
“We are grateful for the assistance provided by Senator Bong Go and the DSWD through the Sustainable Livelihood Program, as well as the DoH for the establishment of the Super Health Center in this town,” she said.
Cuaresma said she believes that this initiative will greatly alleviate the financial burdens faced by the people in this town.
