Salam Air continues to expand operations, launches new summer destinatio­ns

MUSCAT: Salam Air, Oman’s low-cost carrier, continues to expand its operationa­l scope by adding a new destinatio­n to its list of European destinatio­ns next summer.

Captain Ahmed bin Mohammed al Shidhani (pictured), Acting CEO of Salam Air, stated that the new destinatio­n for the company will be Tirana, Albania, starting from mid-june with two weekly flights. Tirana is a seasonal destinatio­n that will be operated during the summer period.

He mentioned that Tirana is the capital of Albania and its largest city, known for its moderate climate along with many tourist and archaeolog­ical attraction­s.

Salam Air will also restart seasonal flights from midjune from Muscat to Baku in Azerbaijan, Trabzon in Türkiye, and Almaty in Kazakhstan

In response to the increased demand from tourists to visit Dhofar Governorat­e during the autumn season, Salam Air will operate four daily flights from Muscat to Salalah, as well as connecting Salalah to Suhar.

Salam Air will also operate flights to Salalah from Fujairah in the UAE and Manama in Bahrain.

The Salam Air fleet currently consists of 13 new aircraft of Airbus A321 Neo and A320 models, as well as a cargo aircraft of Airbus A321 model.

During 2023, Salam Air transporte­d over 2.7 million passengers, showing a 28 per cent increase compared to the previous year, affirming its positive role in enhancing the tourism and service sectors in Oman.

To enhance the customer experience during the booking process, Salam Air will release a new update for its mobile phone applicatio­n tailored to the needs and preference­s of customers.
