MOH holds health management meeting
The Healthcare Management and Organisation Committee (HMOC) of Oman has held its second meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health, in Muscat on Thursday.
The meeting was chaired by H E Dr Hilal Ali al Sabti, Minister of Health and Chairman of the committee, with the attendance of the Committee’s high- profile members.
The committee, which is responsible for developing strategies, programmes, and national policies for integrating civil and military health units in the Sultanate of Oman, discussed various efforts that the ministry executed through it.
The focus was on organising and coordinating the smooth and seamless transfer of human resources between various units functioning under the ministry, a release stated.
They discussed ways to enhance various forms of cooperation, opportunities, and capabilities in this area, the release added.
During the meeting, the committee addressed the importance of interactions with pharmaceutical factories and health product suppliers for the purpose of regulating the distribution of unauthorised medicines in the country.
Additionally, the committee reviewed modern medications, emphasising their quality and prioritising Omani national factories and institutions for the promotion of local manufacturing.
Within the meeting agenda, the Director General of Private Health Establishments gave a presentation on the regulations for permitting government health professionals to work in private health institutions, according to updated guidelines.
The Director of the Treatment Abroad Department presented an overview of the current challenges and discussed possible solutions related to treatments abroad.

Management and Organization Committee recommended the governance of certain practices and the issuance of ministerial decisions to regulate the handling of blood samples sent abroad, ensuring that these samples are sent to medical laboratories accredited by the Sultanate of Oman.
