MOH, Saud Bahwan sign agreement to support knee replacement surgeries
The Saud Bahwan Charitable Foundation (SBCF) on Monday signed an agreement with the Ministry of Health (MOH) to provide financial assistance to the Endowment Health Foundation ‘Athar’ for knee replacement surgeries of those individuals with limited income.
The RO250,000 financing agreement is a step towards achieving sustainable health services as it promotes collective efforts to improve and expedite medical procedures through Athar.
The initiative primarily seeks to alleviate the burden on public health institutions by reducing waiting lists and ensuring timely knee replacement surgeries for those in need.
The agreement underscores the commitment to starting treatment without unnecessary delays, addressing the critical need for prompt medical intervention, stated a press release.
The agreement was signed by H E Dr Hilal bin Ali al Sabti, Minister of Health and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Athar, and Sarah bint Mohammed Bahwan, representing the Saud Bahwan Charitable Foundation.
The agreement outlines comprehensive care for eligible patients, including pre-operative assessments, surgeries, and post-operative follow-ups, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.
H E Dr Sabti highlighted the initiative's significant impact on society, marking a crucial part of the health endowment strategy aimed at empowering healthcare services, preventing diseases, and improving treatment accessibility.
