Griezmann equals record as Atletico held 3-3 by Getafe
Madrid, Spain - Atletico Madrid’s perfect home run in Laliga came crashing down on Tuesday as they surrendered a 3-1 lead to draw 3-3 with Getafe in a dramatic encounter.
Antoine Griezmann, etching his name in club history with a brace that equalled Luis Aragones’ record of 173 goals, seemed to have secured the win. However, Getafe fought back valiantly, capitalising on Stefan Savic’s red card just before halftime to claw their way back with two goals in the second half.
Borja Mayoral completed the comeback with a stoppage-time penalty, leaving the Wanda Metropolitano stunned and Atletico searching for answers.
