FCT principals trained on entrepreneurship
The FCT Administration (FCTA), through its education secretariat has organised a training on entrepreneurship education curriculum for principals of senior secondary schools in the FCT.
The three-day training, which stared on Tuesday, was organised in collaboration with Brunel University, London Business School, United Kingdom, aimed at empowering students with the skills, knowledge and mindset needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Mandate Secretary for Education of the FCTA, Dr Danlami Hayyo, reminded the principals that in an era characterised by rapid technological advancements and globalisation, entrepreneurship education played a pivotal role in preparing students for the challenges and opportunities of the future.
He said, “By fostering creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving and resilience, we empower our youths to become active contributors to economic growth and societal development.
“As principals, you occupy a central position in the educational ecosystem, serving as leaders, mentors and role models to our students and educators alike. Your commitment to excellence, innovation and inclusivity is instrumental in creating a conducive learning environment where every student can realise their full potential.”
Representative of the Permanent Secretary in the education secretariat, Mr Ibe Prospect, urged the participants to use the opportunity to learn, grow and inspire one another, knowing that their collective efforts would shape the future of education in the FCT and beyond.
