I’d like to take the time to say a big thank you to all Registered Master Landscapers members, who completed our survey about how our organisation operates and the value it offers
The Board will be absorbing all your responses and looks forward to translating your feedback into actions in 2024. Keep an eye out in the next issues of NZ Landscaper, as we will share our plans to ensure we continue to remain relevant and deliver value to members across our activities.
Speaking of our members, it’s been delightful to see the good work board member Jono Sole is doing in the community, helping youngsters from a local school get much-needed work experience. To read this feel-good story, head to page 18.
On page 5, read some interesting responses from landscapers on whether or not they use external design companies for their design, and why. In line with this issue's design focus, we also hear from the founder and director of one of Christchurch’s up-and-coming design-only companies, Epic Landscape Design. Covering a wide range of subjects, this interesting profile on pages 20-21 is well worth a read.
On a more technical note, there are two excellent pieces from people who really know their onions. Page 24 features a story from Rebecca Hughes on traditional white gardens, while Jon Muller writes about how to get coastal gardens looking their best on page 26.
There is also an overview of the Construction Contracts Amendment Acts (CCAA) changes, which will affect some landscapers out there. Not all of us enjoy working with them, but the amendment will provide more protection! Read that on page 28.
