Saturday, May 25 to Saturday, June 22: Winter Pottery Exhibition, The Arts Village, Rotorua, All Ages, Free. This is a collaborat­ive exhibition for The Rotorua Potters Group, Waikato Society of Potters and Bethlehem Pottery Club and independen­t artists within these areas. A selection of functional pottery ware will be for sale such as cups, soup mugs, casserole bowls or something wintry.

Saturday, June 1 to Monday, July 1: Matariki Exhibition: Re-imagined Books, Rotorua Library Te Aka Mauri, Rotorua, all ages, free. Matariki is a time to come together and celebrate, acknowledg­e the past, and look ahead to what the New Year will bring. We have invited creatives to take books that would otherwise be discarded and transform them into works of art and what a stunning variety of pieces we now have to inspire you. Come and enjoy these amazing artworks created by artists from all age-groups, on display. Open during Library hours: Monday to Fridays: 9am to 5.30pm, Saturdays: 10am to 4pm.

Saturday, June 15 to Saturday, June 22: CATS the Musical,

Baycourt Addison Theatre, Tauranga. Adapted from TS Eliot’s

Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats,

and bought to life by a very talented cast of 40 and a 16 piece orchestra, this spe-cat-ular musical comes together in a sparkling fusion of music, dance and verse, and has now taken on a new life for a new generation. Tickets via eventfinda.

● He Koniahi, Rotorua Arts Village — Studio 2, koha entry. One day, three shows, Show times: 10.30am to 11.30am, 12.30pm to 1.30pm and 6pm to 7pm. A koha-based, onehour live performanc­e to experience the essence of storytelli­ng. Embark on a captivatin­g journey crafted to ignite the imaginatio­ns. Two cousins embark on an unforgetta­ble tour of Aotearoa, captivatin­g audiences with their music, songs, and stories.

Friday, June 21: Grand Kyiv Ballet Of Ukraine presents Forest Song & Don Quixote, Sir Howard Morrison Centre, Rotorua. This legendary ballet, for over 75 years remains the pride of Ukraine. Forest Song tells a tale of love and the fearless and brave Mavka, who longs for peace in her world. Followed by Don Quixote, that tells the story of a courageous but troubled man’s quest for love. Thursday, June 27 and Friday, June 28: Matariki drone light show

— part of the Aronui Indigenous Arts Festival, 8pm, Rotorua Lakefront. There will be 160 drones programmed to form images in the sky, sharing the story of how Matariki is connected to the taiao (our environmen­t). Two free shows, on Thursday and Friday.

Monday, July 8: St Luke’s Church Rotorua Presents Exaudi — Surroundin­gs Concert 7pm. Entry $20 per person. (Cash or Eftpos, door sales only).
