-

The Maltese Olympic Committee (MOC) and National Lottery plc, a fully owned subsidiary of IZI GROUP has today announced the exten‐ sion of their partnership, which began with the successful 2023 Small States of Europe held in Malta. The renewed collaboration will see National Lottery becoming the main sponsor for Team Malta at the 2025 GSSE in Andorra.

Hosts Andorra have already announced their programme of events which include Athletics, Artistic Swimming, Basketball, Basketball 3x3, Cycling, Gymnastics (Rhythmic and Artistic), Judo, Karate, Rugby 7s, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball and Beach Volley. While it is still early to make any official Team Malta an‐ nouncements, several federations are already working closely with the MOC on programmes that could lead to potential qualification for these Games.

The partnership between National Lottery and the Maltese Olympic Committee underscores a shared commitment to promoting athletic excellence and fostering unity and sportsmanship within the Maltese community. This commitment was further highlighted by the National Lottery’s support for the recent Olympic Day events, which brought together over 22 sporting federations and associations to showcase their disciplines in public.

Julian Pace Bonello, President of the Maltese Olympic Committee, emphasized the importance of this partnership: "The support pro‐ vided by National Lottery plc is invaluable for our athletes' prepara‐ tion for the forthcoming Games. It allows us to enhance our training programmes and ensure that our athletes have the best possible re‐ sources to achieve the best possible results."

Franco de Gabriele, Chief Commercial Officer of National Lottery, commented on the common values that the lottery and its ESG char‐ ter have with the MOC: “We are very thrilled to renew our partnership with the MOC. As a company and as a national lottery operator, we are committed to support the values of the Olympic movement and to support the MOC in its various initiatives locally and abroad. This is a special year for the MOC and the Olympic Movement, as we ea‐ gerly await the unparalleled spectacle of the Olympics and Para Olympics in Paris this summer.”
