MATSEC results for main session 2024 published

MATSEC results for the first examinatio­n session of 2024 were published on Monday, with the total number of registrati­ons for SEC exams (OLevel) being 5,294, and the total registrati­ons for the Matriculat­ion exams (A-Level and Intermedia­te) being 3,668.

The three O-Level subjects with the most candidates registered for the exam were Mathematic­s, English, and Maltese.

Out of 4,622 candidates who registered for the Mathematic­s exam, 2,395 received a grade of 5 or higher. 287 candidates achieved the highest grade of 1.

4,519 candidates registered for the English Language exam, with 3,192 achieving a grade of 5 or higher, 167 of which achieved a 1.

For Maltese, there were 3,968 registered candidates, 2,543 of which achieved a grade of 5 or higher. 152 candidates achieved the highest grade of 1.

Looking at the A-Level statistics, the three most popular subjects were English, Marketing, and Maltese.

Out of the 795 candidates who registered for the English

A-Level, 274 candidates achieved a C grade or higher, with 13 achieving an A.

Looking at the Marketing ALevel, 247 achieved a C or higher, with 38 achieving an A.

527 candidates registered for the Maltese A-Level, with 261 achieving a C or higher and 28 gaining an A.

When it comes to Intermedia­te exams, the three most popular subjects were Systems of Knowledge, English, and Psychology.

For Systems of Knowledge, there were 1,716 registered candidates, with 961 achieving a C or higher, 108 of which achieved an A.

Out of the 924 candidates who registered for the English Intermedia­te exam, 403 achieved a C or higher, 18 of which achieved an A.

799 candidates registered for the Psychology Intermedia­te exam, and 287 achieved a C or higher. 46 candidates achieved an A.

Results from the Secondary Education Applied Certificat­e Level Examinatio­ns were also published, with 465 unique candidates having registered.

The three most popular subjects here were Hairdressi­ng and Beauty, Engineerin­g Technology, and Hospitalit­y.

In Hairdressi­ng and Beauty, 74 out of 98 candidates achieved a grade of Level 1 or higher.

For Engineerin­g Technology, 67 out of 89 candidates achieved a grade of Level 1 or higher.

Out of 86 candidates who registered for the Hospitalit­y exam, 67 achieved a grade of Level 1 or higher.
