Leon Chetcuti, Josann Attard Pulis finish strong in 10k Hudson Race Series in Dingli

-

The Hudson Race Series Dingli Edition drew another sell out crowd on Sunday as hundreds of runners took part in one of the Se‐ ries’ toughest races due to the hilly nature of the course.

The 10k race saw Leon Chetcuti and Mark Herrera run side by side, from the very start of the 10km race, with Chetcuti edging Herrera in the last few metres to pip him to the win, with just one second to spare. Heathcliff Vella finished in third place.

The females race was won by Josann Attard Pulis who took the lead from the start and main‐ tained it till she crossed the finish line. She was followed by Jolene Debattista, who finished in second place, whilst Caroline Ciappara took third place.

Brandon Saliba won the 5k race. Thurstan Dimech and Stefan Sul‐ tana fought to the finish, with only a second separating them at the finish line.

Charyl Fava emerged winner of the 5km race, she took the lead with Veronika Kersyte hot on her heels, though Fava kept on her strong pace to stave off Kersyte’s attempts to over take her. In third place was Norah Zammit who also gave a good perform‐ ance.

Prizes and trophies were pre‐ sented to the winners by Race Di‐ rector Charlie Demanuele, who congratulated the winners. De‐ manuele went on to thank the athletes for their ongoing pres‐ ence as well as Hudson Holdings for the ongoing support they pro‐ vide for these races.

The organisers also thank Dingli and Rabat Local Councils, Rabat District Police, Transport Malta, the medical teams and race offi‐ cials for their contribution to‐ wards this race.

The next race of the Hudson Race Series will take place on Sun‐ day 1st September in Burmarrad.
