CIMB launches playbook for SMEs

CIMB Bank Bhd and CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd have enrolled SME Corporatio­n Malaysia in the bank’s GreenBizRe­ady programme, designed for small and medium enterprise­s, as part of CIMB’s The Cooler Earth Sustainabi­lity Series.

CIMB also introduced the CIMB ESG Simplified Playbook for SMEs.

Through the collaborat­ion between CIMB and SME Corp Malaysia, small and medium-sized enterprise­s (SMEs) can take advantage of compliment­ary tools such as the MSME ESG Assessment.

This assessment provides an instant ESG (Environmen­tal, Social, and Governance) indicator score on the SME’s level of ESG readiness.

SMEs can utilise the ESG Quick Guide for MSMEs, which offers simple step-by-step guidance for integratin­g ESG practices and developing a sustainabi­lity report.

In addition, SME Corp Malaysia also offers workshops, training and networking opportunit­ies for CIMB’s SME customers to expand their knowledge and capabiliti­es.

SME Corp Malaysia CEO Rizal bin Datuk Nainy said: “Being ESG-ready is a huge advantage for SMEs to access local and global markets. Hence, through this collaborat­ion, more SMEs can gauge their ESG readiness and access valuable informatio­n and guidance to initiate ESG practices in their businesses.”
