LBS Bina bags Best Managed Company award again

KUALA LUMPUR: LBS Bina Group Bhd has been recognised as one of Malaysia’s “Best Managed Companies” for the third consecutiv­e year.

This award, presented by Deloitte Private, celebrates exceptiona­l Malaysian companies for their organisati­onal excellence, sustained growth and entreprene­urial spirit.

The winners are selected by a panel of industry leaders.

The award was presented to LBS group managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Joey Lim Hock Guan by Deloitte Malaysia CEO Yee Wing Peng.

“Our belief in leading to a better tomorrow fuels our determinat­ion to push boundaries and overcome challenges to reach greater heights.

“LBS is immensely honoured to receive this prestigiou­s award for the third consecutiv­e year, as it validates the group’s successful transforma­tion which is marked by its portfolio expansion and adaptabili­ty to market challenges,” said Lim.

“Our commitment to enhance shareholde­rs’ value is further evident in our dividend payout last year of 2.7 sen per share, or RM41.6 million, surpassing our dividend policy of 30 per cent of profit after taxation and minority interests (PATMI),” he said in a statement.

An end result of LBS’ management excellence is exhibited through its three-year revenue compound annual growth rate of 18.6 per cent from 2020 to last year, which surpassed the pre-Covid 19 pandemic period’s 10.1 per cent from 2016 to 2019.

For the fiscal year ended 2023, the group achieved its highest-ever revenue of RM1.8 billion, with PATMI surging by 9.7 per cent year-onyear to RM141 million, resulting in earnings per share of 7.75 sen.

In the past years, LBS pioneered the issuance of an Asean sustainabl­e and responsibl­e investment sukuk wakalah in Malaysia’s real estate sector with an “AA-IS” rating, reinforcin­g its financial strength and commitment to sustainabl­e, affordable housing.

The company also prioritise­d board diversity, achieving 38 per cent female representa­tion and a 50 per cent independen­t board compositio­n.

“Our achievemen­ts are a direct result of our dedicated team comprising over 1,000 employees. We foster a culture of continuous improvemen­t to nurture a strong pipeline of future leaders. Our trajectory of growth will continue as we focus on strengthen­ing our core business model of delivering highqualit­y, affordable and connected communitie­s,” Lim said.

She also highlighte­d the significan­ce of LBS’ inclusion in the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia indices as a testament to the group’s dedication to sustainabi­lity.

through the group’s subsidiary enhances the productivi­ty, elevates the quality of LBS’ built units, and also minimises environmen­tal impact.
